Civil Engineer (Dams) / Engineering Technician

The Role:

If you have few years of experience under your belt and you need a new challenge or a bit of a career boost then we would love to hear from you.

You will be directly involved in various interesting projects providing support to our Senior and Principal Engineers by:

  • Preparation of outline / planning / detailed designs for new reservoirs and reservoir upgrade / remedial works.
  • Preparation of design drawings (CAD drafting).
  • Preparation of construction contract documentation in accordance with CDM 2015 (specifications, contracts, PCI, buildability statements, designer’s risk assessments etc.)
  • Part time construction supervision / assistance.
  • Carrying out on-site level and dimension surveys.
  • Part time on-site supervision during ground investigations / topographic surveys (by others).
  • Assistance in the preparation of Annual Statements (under Section 12 of the Act) and Inspection Reports (under Section 10 of the Act).
  • Preparation of On-site Emergency Flood Plans for Reservoir Undertakers.
  • Ad-hoc technical assistance.

We will provide you with all the necessary support and training you require to become an Incorporated Engineer / Chartered Engineer with the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE). We are aware that there are several routes that you can take to ultimately become a Chartered Engineer and we will help you to identify the best route based on your current qualifications.

In addition, we will provide the necessary support and training to help you to become appointed to the Supervising Engineer Panel. Once appointed to the Panel, your duties will include undertaking the role of Supervising Engineer for your own portfolio of reservoirs.

Qualifications & Personal Skills:

BEng / BSc / BTECH in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering.

Minimum of 3 years’ post graduate experience. We will tailor an attractive salary package which will be proportionate to your qualifications and experience.

Good interpersonal and communication skills are essential as you will be required to regularly liaise with clients in terms of developing and implementing designs, and contractors in terms of site supervision of construction.
